Willie Brown, former Mayor of San Francisco, CA will appear alongside former Governor of Pennsylvania, Ed Rendell and former Governor of Nevada, Bob Miller at GiGse in San Francisco, CA on July 14 to discuss proposed ban on internet gambling and rights of individual states to decide their gaming policy.
Named during his time in the California legislature as one of the country's most powerful state legislators by The New York Times, Willie Brown previously supported legislation of internet poker, but changed his position recently, joining Sheldon Adelson’s Coalition to Stop Internet Gambling as its California chair.
Brown’s views will be challenged by the former Governor of Pennsylvania, Ed Rendell, whose time in office saw the legalisation of gambling in the state. Pennsylvania now has the second largest gambling market after Nevada in the United States and is also currently considering regulating iGaming.
Ewa Bakun, Head of Content for Clarion Events commented: ‘We are honoured to host such influential political figures at GiGse. With the clear lines now being drawn between the opponents and proponents of internet gambling and the debate igniting on federal vs. state regulation, this will undoubtedly be a highlight of the event, in particular as the opposing points of view will be presented by panellists well known for their charisma.’
