Dear Readers,

Natalia Baevska

It is a pleasure for me to offer to your attention the first issue of Game Spectrum – the only magazine in the gaming and entertainment industry in the Eastern Europe and on the Balkans. The idea for a print publication to provide up-to-date information about the development, trends and problems in this area, is already a fact.

The lack of sufficient information in our country about this business is often confronting us with a number of unanswered questions, leaving gaps in our general culture. What is the gaming and entertainment industry like? How does it develop in Bulgaria and the world? Where are we? Who are the people engaged in the industry? Where and what can we find? How to entertain and win? Does the gaming industry have different faces and what are they? What are the professional tendencies in the sector and what can we expect?

In a pursuit of the answers and led by the wish to unveil the face of a mysterious and often mythical industry our team has decided to open the curtain with this magazine, so that we all may have a look. We shall seek together the answers to the above questions and many other questions on the pages of Game Spectrum.

It is a fact that each industry rests on the interests of the three major stakeholders - society, the state and the professionals in the area. This motivates us even more in our ambition to make this magazine an objective and unbiased platform of information that fills in the gaps and presents a forum for various opinions and view points.

This publication will mostly focus on the development of the gaming and entertainment industry in Bulgaria, Eastern Europe and the Balkans, but this will of course be done on the basis of comparison with best international practices, which will serve as a reference point and an indicator of the current state and future prospects of the business. For the past couple of years was observed an ever growing integration of the interests of tourism and the entertainment industry, which comes as a response to our dynamic pace of life and the need of comprehensive approach to holiday making and pleasant leisure time activities. These and many other tendencies and examples we plan to present on the pages of this magazine.

We believe that the magazine will satisfy the need and will quickly gain a proper recognition not only on the Bulgarian but also on the foreign market as an equal partner of the recognized international publications in this sector, helping create a fair and objective picture of the gaming and entertainment industry as an integral component of our modern life and activities.
