BEGE and EEGS Unite with SBC to Champion Safer Gambling Initiatives during BEGE 2024

The Balkan Entertainment and Gaming Expo (BEGE) and the Eastern European Gaming Summit (EEGS) are proud to announce a strategic collaboration with SBC to advance initiatives focused on safer gambling at this year’s 15th edition of BEGE. Thus, both parties underscore a shared commitment to fostering responsible gaming practices and ensuring player safety across the gaming industry.

The joint initiatives will serve as a platform for engaging discussions, educational opportunities, and the promotion of innovative tools and strategies aimed at minimising gambling-related harm. By uniting key stakeholders from the gaming ecosystem—including operators, regulators, technology providers, and industry experts—BEGE 2024 will address the most pressing issues of safer gambling while paving the way for meaningful solutions.

At the heart of this collaboration are activities and events, including expert panels and discussions, tailored to advancing safer gambling practices. The Masterclass, kicking off on 25 November at Palms Royale Sofia, will explore “The Role of the Employer in Preventing Gambling Addiction Among Employees.” The safer gambling topic will be on the agenda, with more sessions on the 28 of November during EEGS. As the leading conference for gaming professionals in Eastern Europe, EEGS will complement safer gambling initiatives by hosting in-depth discussions. “The Future of Online Player Protection in the Gaming Industry: The Role of Technology” will feature an exceptional lineup of speakers, including Rossi McKee (Co-Founder, Telematic Interactive and Founder, Responsible Gaming Foundation), Jessica Maier (Founder, Executive Gaming and Risk Advisory (EGARA)), Angel Iribozov (Chairman, Association of the Gaming Industry in Bulgaria (AGIB)), Shelley White (CEO, Responsible Gambling Council), Lavrenty Gubin (Author, VIXIO Regulatory Intelligence and Responsible Gaming Advisor), Aleksandar Popov (Director of Gambling Supervision, National Revenue Agency, Bulgaria), Miglena Dimitrova (Lawyer, Member of the Board of Management, Bulgarian Gambling Association (BGA)), Rada Gyonova (Member of the Management Board of Bulgarian Sports Totalizer), and Jochen Biewer (Managing Director, Chevron Group).

These sessions, featuring thought leaders, will explore topics such as player protection technologies, regulatory updates, and the integration of responsible gaming into product design.

SBCBEGE, and EEGS have long been advocates for safer gambling, each contributing significantly to the industry’s progress. This partnership reinforces their dedication to creating a sustainable and socially responsible gaming environment.

By joining forces with SBC, we are amplifying our efforts to address safer gambling topics,” said Nataliya Baevska, Project Manager at BEGE. “Together, we can lead the charge in promoting responsible gaming practices across the region and beyond.

SBC’s involvement adds a global dimension to the initiatives, drawing on its extensive experience organising world-class events and advocating for safer gambling. Their expertise in curating impactful content and fostering collaboration ensures that these initiatives will resonate with attendees and industry leaders alike.

The new collaboration marks a significant step forward in the collective effort to prioritise the players’ well-being. These organisations aim to set new benchmarks for safer gambling initiatives in Europe and beyond by aligning the resources and expertise.
