No more restrictions for the online gambling in Bulgaria

The Bulgarian Parliament is preparing amendments, which to remove restrictions on the online gambling. The text will not be passed to the Gambling Act, and through the transitional and final provisions of the VAT Act.

Proposal was submitted by the Finance Ministry, before the Minister Djankov to resign. They even passed the first reading in plenary on Friday (1th of march) without debate.
In the official version, submitted to the secretariat of parliament, there are recorded texts,  providing for the law to remove all requirements for foreigne operators who want to organize gambling in the country.
Under the current law they can offer gaming only in hotel casino if they own the hotel. The existing texts offer an alternative – The person requesting license  sould have made investments in other industry of 10 million EUR at least, as well as providing 500 wokplaces at least. Exception from these limitations is made only for gambling operators from member states of the EU.
As a reason for the cancellation is pointed that the restrictions "make  impossible the operating of legitimate online gambling."
