Tailored to the 4,000 industry professionals expected to attend, the educational program promises an in-depth exploration of various topics and challenges impacting the Latin American region. The session titled ‘Protecting the Future: Combating Influences of Underage Gambling’ will tackle the issue of underage gambling in Latin America. Expert speakers Lorena Castro (Compliance Director Latam, Betsson Group), Iliana Pineda (Chief Legal Officer and Compliance Officer, Wplay), and Sebastian Vivot (Modernisation and Information Technology Manager, LOTBA) will explore topics such as problematic video game microtransactions, the role of technology in combating underage gambling and strategies for industry collaboration to better safeguard younger players.
The panel titled ‘Transforming Omnichannel Strategies for the Modern-Day’ will delve into the latest strategies to modernize traditional brick-and-mortar establishments for the digital age. Panel experts including Gabriel Szlaifsztein (General Manager LATAM, Continent 8) and moderator Seth Schorr (CEO, Fifth Street Gaming), will share insights into the safe implementation of automation and discuss the key considerations for operators transitioning online, such as new technologies, cybersecurity measures, and regional regulatory compliance.
The panel ‘Transnational Regulatory Convergence: Charting a Course for Unified Legislation’ will explore the feasibility of achieving cross-border, regulatory alignment in Latin America. Expert speakers Juan Camilo Carrasco (Partner, Asensi Abogados), Martin Garcia Santillan (Presidente, Lotería de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires (LOTBA)), Carlos Fonseca Sarmiento (CEO, Gaming Law) and panel moderator Karen Sierra-Hughes (Vice President, Latin America Caribbean & Spain, GLI), will analyze regulatory patterns in both established and burgeoning markets and examine the potential collaborative approaches for operators and regulators to navigate legislation harmoniously.
Concluding the conference track is the panel titled "Advancing Safe Gaming: The Role of Technological Innovation." This session will highlight the pivotal role that technology can play in promoting safe gambling initiatives. Esteemed industry experts Cristhian Cardenas (Compliance Director Latam, RushBet) and Elizabeth Maya Cano (President, CORNAZAR) will emphasize the significance of public education on gambling addiction and the implementation of advanced protective measures for players. Furthermore, the panel will explore the evolution of comprehensive regulatory policies and discuss collaborative efforts within the industry to foster a responsible and ethical gaming environment.
