Rome, 15th March 2012 – 30 years of ENADA Spring. Yesterday morning the inauguration was held at Rimini Expo Centre of the thirtieth edition of the show dedicated to the gaming and amusement world, Southern Europe’s leader for the trade, which Italian Exhibition Group is organizing until Friday 16th in collaboration with SAPAR (the Association that for 56 years has been the reference point for 1,500 venue managers, manufacturers and resellers of amusement machines) and the support of EUROMAT (European Gaming and Amusement Federation).

At the ribbon-cutting ceremony participants included the President of the Chamber of Commerce of Rimini and Forlì - Cesena, Fabrizio Moretti, along with SAPAR chairman Raffaele Curcio and IEG president, Lorenzo Cagnoni.

The President of the Chamber of Commerce of Rimini and Forlì - Cesena, Fabrizio Moretti said, “I believe  the approach to socially sustainable gaming that stands out at this show is positive. I think that the social problems involved must be faced with initiatives of an educational and informative nature, whereas only taking action with regulations across the board doesn’t help to solve the problems.”

SAPAR Chairman Raffaele Curcio commented, “We are celebrating the 30th edition of a show that has given considerable satisfaction. Unfortunately, recently our trade has experienced difficulties caused by a superficial approach that is not balanced and often ideological, and is putting it at risk. There is considerable difference between the regulations and reality, “physical” gaming is being treated pitilessly and control of online gaming is culpably lacking. The result is that companies are closing, employees are loosing their jobs and revenue for the treasury is diminishing, while these areas are being occupied by uncontrolled situations. I doesn’t seem a balanced sensible choice to me.”

President Lorenzo Cagnoni concluded, “IEG appreciates the commitment of SAPAR, at the show and during the year, to spread the culture of responsible gaming and fight illegality. This is necessary to face even the most delicate issues, in a balanced manner and without demagogy. The show is celebrating its 30th edition, a really enviable result in the trade fair world and this journey has been made along with the companies and the relative trade Association. We are the leaders in Southern Europe and an absolute reference point for the trade. We claim the right to contribute to the growth of a business sector that ensures profit for companies, employment and satisfaction for the treasury.”

100 BILLION EUROS PLACED IN BETS IN 2017 AND 10 BILLION IN TAKINGS FOR THE TREASURY

Approximately 100 billion euros were spent on gaming in 2017, with an increase of approximately 4.2% compared to 2016 and tax revenue for the government of approximately 10 billion euros. In 2017 the online gaming market grew by 22% on 2016 figures, with an overall cash flow of 1.2 billion euros. Another winning category for online casinos is that of the slot machines, which account for 35% of the overall turnover. Slot machines will drop by approximately 34% within April 2018, which is another important sign of the shrinking market of games and bets. Sources: Italian Customs and Monopoly Agency - Agipronews - Italian Customs and Monopoly Agency / Milan Polytechnic
