14/07/11 – The Belgian Constitutional Court refused to refer the new Belgian Gaming Law to the European Court of Justice (ECJ) on the basis that it is compliant with the Belgian Constitution and EU law. The case was initiated by a complaint from Betfair International and the Remote Gambling Association (RGA) challenging the link between online and offline licenses and the requirement to have the server located in Belgium. In its ruling, the Belgian Court concluded that the law is sufficiently clear and there is therefore no need to refer the case to the ECJ.
