Gaming Laboratories International (GLI®) Issues White Paper on Fantasy Sports & Website Testing

LAKEWOOD, N.J. - According to statistics available through the Fantasy Sports Trade Association (FSTA) website, the estimated number of fantasy sports players has grown from 12.6 million to 56.8 million in the last 10 years.

Because of the growing popularity of fantasy sports and increasing consumer demand for greater transparency in how the games operate, Gaming Laboratories International (GLI®), the global leader in online systems and iGaming testing, has issued a White Paper on Fantasy Sports, highlighting the benefits of having fantasy sports sites properly tested and certified by GLI. Independent testing of fantasy sports sites provides consumers with greater confidence in the service and allows operators to establish credibility and maintain player loyalty.

FSTA research also states that 48 percent of players (the highest response of eight categories), chose the website to play because they trusted the site.

“The exponential growth in fantasy sports players, combined with the fact that players choose their sites to play primarily because they trust the site, clearly speaks to the need for these sites to be properly tested,” said GLI President/CEO James Maida.

“GLI’s fantasy sports white paper provides information regarding current regulatory environments, GLI’s testing services, testing results, and the easy steps operators can follow to submit their website for GLI’s experts to analyze. Earning and keeping players’ trust is of utmost importance and GLI is, here to provide a means for fantasy sports operators to demonstrate the integrity, value, security and fairness of their product.” added GLI Vice President, iGaming & Canadian Services Salim Adatia.

GLI’s White Paper on Fantasy Sports is available for free download now at gaminglabs.com, where users will also find more information about GLI, additional news and white papers, the GLI Standards Series™ as well as a menu of testing and certification capabilities.

GLI certifications do not contain legal opinions or issue any statements regarding the legality of fantasy sports. Certifications either provide valuable information to consumers to create transparency for a fantasy sports service or certify that games meet technical standards established by regulators.

GLI has been successfully testing iGaming systems for more than 20 years. Today, GLI serves more than 475 global jurisdictions, more than 130 of which exclusively accept GLI certification letters.
