Thursday 30 April 2015 (London, UK) – OpenBet, the world’s leading software provider to the sports betting and gaming industry, has significantly expanded its global presence through the acquisition of its previously outsourced Greek operation from Athens Technology Center S.A (ATC).
The acquisition initially increases headcount at OpenBet by 25%, with the additional employees focused on development. It will allow the business to continue to improve its ability to deliver and scale its technology and services, with a widening pool of talent and resource. It also enables OpenBet to offer its customers additional flexibility to support their expansion plans, where required.
The business unit has been incorporated as OpenBet Hellas S.A.
In addition, the integration will see OpenBet boost investment in products and innovation to better support new business opportunities and enable existing customers to continue to deliver a best-in-class player experience, with increased lifetime player values.
OpenBet CEO Jeremy Thompson-Hill said: “This deal concludes the plan originally set out – to provide a market-leading development resource that is immediately scalable and supports OpenBet’s need to efficiently recruit the right level of talent.
“Achieving this in more established geographies is becoming increasingly challenging, so this acquisition will give us a significant advantage in continuing to serve customers effectively.
“We have an ambitious plan for growth and we are proud to have secured such a fantastic addition to our team to continue to work alongside our other international offices."
