A Jersey-based online gaming consultancy is encouraging the industry to consider the lucrative opportunities the Channel Island has to offer as a jurisdiction.
Phil Shaw set up Think Gaming Limited in Jersey in response to the brand new and highly competitive eGaming licensing framework available for companies relocating to the Island.
He explains:
“Jersey is one of the world’s major international finance centers, with a reputation for stability and reliability, and the government is committed to encouraging high quality businesses to the island.
“It is now starting to diversify into other areas, and for the eGaming industry, taking a license in Jersey is an attractive prospect. “
With no Gaming Duty, 0% Corporation Tax, no VAT on services provided from Jersey and a sophisticated and comprehensive infrastructure of laws and regulations which promote investor confidence, Jersey is fast becoming a leading hub for eGaming operations.
There are two different licenses for a company to facilitate online gambling services from Jersey, both of which are highly competitive, the ‘Remote Operator’s Licence’ (B2C) at £15,000 per annum or the ‘Platform Provider’s Licence’ (B2B) at £10,000 per annum.
A licence is valid for 5 years and a reduced probity fee can be charged on renewal, with an application currently taking three months.
Phil Shaw continues:
“Jersey currently offers endless new opportunities for the eGaming world. I’d urge all the industry to consider the benefits of the extremely competitive licence operating fees and corporate advantages, combined with the Island’s pro-business attitude and its strong and stable economy.”
