Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) and NYCE Conduct Successful iGaming Training for Mexican Industry

Gaming Laboratories International (GLI), the world’s leading gaming technical consulting and independent certification laboratory, has completed a very successful iGaming training in México.

The event, produced through the company’s GLI University®, was offered to the Mexican gaming industry by Normalización y Certificación Electrónica (NYCE).

The two-day intensive training was conducted May 15 and 16 at NYCE’s headquarters in México City and was led by GLI Canada Business Systems Analyst Robert Cutler. Topics in the training are critically important in today’s iGaming landscape and included an overview of iGaming and of GLI’s iGaming standard, GLI-19, and NMX-I-287-NYCE. Additional topics included peer-to-peer games, sports betting, live dealer games, online progressives, regulatory compliance testing, internal control systems, system security, software verification, change management and ongoing regulation.

GLI Director of Latin American Development Karen Sierra-Hughes said, “GLI is world-renown for our expertise in iGaming testing and consultancy, having conducted the first successful iGaming testing and certification for regulated jurisdictions around the world. Our GLI University training is unparalleled in the industry, so to bring our iGaming knowledge to an in-depth training event was very important for the growing market in México.”

NYCE Chief IT Operations Officer Salvador Sánchez said, “It is very important for NYCE to help increase the industry’s knowledge and growth potential. Bringing this kind of training to Mexico contributes to our growth and helps Mexican technicians, operators, manufacturers and regulators to better understand the latest topics. Before this course, the gaming industry in México only had access to this kind of training outside of the country, and now we have it in México, which is an important step forward.”

For the past five years, GLI and NYCE have been working closely together in a business alliance to help bring testing standards to México and have established technical standards, known as the NMX Gaming Standards.

GLI University was nominated as “The Educational Development Programme of the Year in the Land-based Casino Sector” in the Totally Gaming Awards 2013
