Macau revenue reaches record high after holiday week
Macau casino revenue reached a record $3.5 billion patacas in October, a rise of 3.2pc year-on-year. Macau’s Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau attributed the rise to promotions over the eight-day Golden Week holiday, which attracted more Chinese tourists to the world’s biggest gambling hub.
Revenue in the Chinese enclave rose 12pc, to 23.9 billion patacas in September, although in July Macau saw the slowest growth since 2009, at 1.5pc, leading to speculation that China's phenomenal growth rate was slowing.
