Fantawild Holdings has signed a contract with Shiyan City in the Hubei province, for the construction of a theme park at the Wudang Mountain Tourism Special Economic Zone. The project will cover an area of 4,046,856 sq. mt. It has a total investment of 5.1b yuan (approx. $771.4b). 3.1b yuan will be spent on the theme park and 2b yuan on additional facilities.
The Chaoyang Wanda Plaza commercial complex project has been given the green light to be built in Shantou City, Guangdong Province. The commercial complex project will extend over 40,000 sq. mt. integrating shopping dining, culture and entertainment. The Chaoyang Wanda Plaza commercial complex project has attracted a total investment of 20bn yuan (approx. $2.977bn).
According to National Bureau of Statistics, the added value of national tourism and related industries in 2019 was 4,498.9 billion yuan, accounting for 4.56% of GDP, 0.05 percentage point higher than that of the previous year. Tourism shopping had the largest scale, with an added value of 1,407.7 billion yuan, followed by tourism travel, with an added value of 1,205.5 billion yuan.
Dec. 28th, 2020, Jinma Rides and Happy Valley signed a strategic cooperation agreement to partner in development of high-end amusement products, including the creation of China characteristic IP contents, the introduction of advanced sound and light technologies, and the integration of internet, IoT, and 5G technologies with traditional theme parks, and so forth.
Shanghai Disney Resort welcomed the New Year in with a memorable celebration. Visitors at the site enjoyed a night-time show, a dazzling firework display and the surprise revealing of a special logo to commemorate the resort’s fifth anniversary.
Merlin Entertainments has announced Legoland Shanghai Resort is expected to open in 2024, featuring a 250-room, fully themed hotel upon opening. Leading creative, design and construction teams will work together to create an immersive theme park, which will be centred on the scenic spots of Shanghai, the Jinshan District and the town of Fengjing.
