08/08/12 – The Hessen Ministry of the Interior, responsible for licencing under the new Interstate Treaty on Gambling in Germany, has launched its sports-betting licence approval procedure. The deadline for sending applications has been set for 4 September, leaving little time for operators to collect and submit the relevant documents. In all, 20 licences are up for grabs.

08/08/12 - Finland's state-controlled Slot Machine Association (RAY) has announced a 6.1 per cent increase in revenues from gaming operations for the first half of 2012 compared to the same period in 2011. Almost 76 per cent of the association’s revenue emanates from slot machines. However, the biggest profit increase was marked by Internet games with a revenue increase of more than 68 per cent over the corresponding period last year.
