Yuval Ziv from SafeCharge is this year EEGS honorable speaker. During the second day of the conference he will explain how the right selection of payment methods could make gamers pay and stay longer in the game.
The 12th edition of Eastern European Gaming Summit is on its way. The event will be held on 19-20 November 2019 at Inter Expo Center, Sofia. The ground breaking summit will once again provide the unique opportunity to explore all challenges in the Eastern and Central European market in the online gaming and land-based gaming industry.
Networking will continue to be a crucial part of this year’s event and the organizers could ensure that the two days summit will help all the participants to build valuable relationships. All the speakers at previous EEGS editions are unanimous that being a part of the Eastern European Gaming Summit means meeting stakeholders from gambling-related sectors and discuss with them the ways and tools which can help to take the industry to the next level.
Mr. Yuval Ziv is one of the speakers included in this year EEGS agenda. Yuval Ziv has extensive experience and expertise in global online payment processing in Forex, gaming, dating and online games industries. He is currently the CCO of successfully listed SafeCharge International Limited. In addition, Yuval Ziv runs the Group operations, account management, sales and business development. He manages key projects and directs multicultural talented teams globally.
Mr. Yuval Ziv, could you please introduce yourself?
I have over 15 years of financial and IT industry experience including a deep understanding of relevant regulations, technology advancement, payment culture and risk management. My expertise is in global online payment processing in forex, gaming, dating and online gaming industries. I am currently working as CCO at SafeCharge, a company part of the Nuvei Group.
Why did you decide to speak at the Eastern European Gaming Summit?
Gaming has always been one to the key verticals for SafeCharge. We have built a solid track record in gaming and gambling, working for the best-known merchants in the market. The industry requires the highest levels of availability as payment processing in this market is very time sensitive. Gaming is an industry at the forefront of innovation, often being the first to implement new payment methods, and as such is an important market that is well suited to SafeCharge. We have some important clients in the Eastern European Region and we are glad to be at EEGS to share our specific knowledge of the regional business dynamics.
Can you provide a brief overview of your conference session?
We speak of the world becoming a smaller place but expanding into a new continent is often a challenge for businesses, especially if we talk about highly regulated markets. With a different culture, different preferences for betting and paying, streamlining business operations between continents is easier said than done. The right payment methods, though, have the superpower to bridge an important part of this gap for businesses and support operators in their global expansion. During this presentation I will show how a commercial strategy for growth needs to include a payment strategy to make the most of the new market operators aim to expand into. Analyzing local preferences to make the right selection of payment methods is key to making it easier for gamers to pay and stay longer in the game.
What can EEGS delegates expect to take away from your session?
The audience will have the chance to learn more about the right payment mix to boost their business and increase conversions. They will also have some concrete examples to understand how it is crucial to maintain a frictionless experience when it is time to comply with local Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations, and risks of fraud while seamlessly verifying the age and identity of the users.
Would you please speak about the effects of EEGS on the gambling industry in general and in the Balkan and Central Europe in particular?
The gaming industry is constantly evolving, and in the last few years the Balkan region has issued licenses to improve the accessibility of online gaming in the region to its users, and obviously legalize it. With the regulation come best practices and needs, both on the content and payment sides. SafeCharge would love to support these markets, same as we have done in any other regulated market in the past.
What aspects of the Summit do you expect to enjoy the most?
The Summit brings all the main experts for online gaming, leisure and tourism industry in the Region under one roof. It is an excellent chance to share and gain in-depth knowledge about the hottest industry topics and latest technologies.
What would you say are the latest trends and significant changes in the gambling industry that you would like to speak about?
Traditional gambling is gradually becoming less popular than online gambling. Many businesses in the gambling market are nowadays looking for an omnichannel approach. SafeCharge has been recently investing in technology to make it easy for merchants to process and manage payments through all channels - online, mobile, point of sales - through one contract and one technical interface. This will enable merchants to get a clear view of their payments activity across all channels, track performance and streamline operations. Imagine a situation in which a user is playing on his mobile device or tablet at home and then, wishes to continue the experience at the nearest offline Casino. For an operator to be able to recognize him and his account and to be able to use a “single wallet” for his online and offline activity is a huge advantage. This means that the operator can link his deposits and his withdrawal requests online and offline, and customers can freely use their deposits and withdraw winnings at their convenience across channels.
To stay competitive, operators will need to create this smooth experience and offer a full range of payment methods across all channels - for all types of gaming, events, and locations. Retailers need to ensure that their customers can enjoy a seamless transition from online - using a desktop or mobile device - to offline in a brick and mortar venue. While an omnichannel experience can improve customer loyalty and retention, it can also allow operators to generate new revenue streams. With gamers becoming increasingly channel agonistic and technology allowing them to play whenever, wherever, and however they want, providing an omnichannel experience will give operators an end-to-end view of how their customers like to play and consume their services on different types of platforms.
