24/08/11 – Massachusetts lawmakers have revealed a new deal that would allow the state to license three Las-Vegas style gambling resorts. In addition, a fourth venue - a gaming and amusement parlour allowed to have up to 1,250 machines - could be built anywhere in the state. The proposal will still need to be passed by the Massachusetts legislature before it becomes law.
23/08/11 – Russian Lottery amendments are set for a second reading in the Russian Parliament next month. The draft bill is intended to tackle a number of serious flaws and loopholes that have been detected in the existing legislation and to clamp down on “bogus” lotteries used for money laundering. The amendments follow newly-introduced criminal sanctions for illegal gambling. If passed, the bill will give officials the power to hand down administrative fines for breaking the law or violating consumer rights.
