CPI underlines its presence in UK amusement and gaming market

First-rate solutions in practically all cash and cashless categories – with unique value-adding benefits – that is what CPI stands for. The team at CPI took the opportunity to focus on the difference their products and services make when exhibiting at EAG 2017.

With the introduction of the new £1 coin only weeks away, the premiere of CPI at the EAG show was very timely and enabled the team to answer visitors’ questions about what CPI has done to facilitate a smooth changeover. In fact, when it comes to updating the existing field base, no hardware changes will be required for any CPI coin handling products used in Gaming. Most products require a simple software update to begin accepting the new £1 coin, whereas the Universal Hopper and Compact Hopper products don’t require any changes at all.  Software, as well as handheld programmers to perform easy in-field updates, can be obtained through either CPI or its distributors.  Additionally, all new orders for CPI coin handling products come automatically configured for the new coin.


Adding to this, CPI introduced the MEI banknote recycler SCR Advance at EAG with even more security and benefits. The capacity and security of the SCR Advance make it the ideal solution for amusement and gaming machines where note recycling is required. It also offers the lowest jam rate in the industry, minimizing the total cost of ownership.


The most recent cashless solution from CPI points to how the future could look in the amusement and gaming market. This is already reality, for example, in Norway, where AWP play is mandatory via cashless systems. The MEI 5in1 eCash reader can accept up to 5 different types of payment: banknotes, chip cards, magnetic stripe cards, NFC payments and contactless cards. Visitors to the CPI stand recognized this unit as it is fitted on the Coca-Cola drinks vending machines at the ExCel exhibition centre.
