Agenda unveiled for debut edition of SBC Digital Summit CIS

SBC Digital Summit CIS, the new virtual event dedicated to the betting and gaming industry in the CIS, has unveiled an agenda full of essential content for both businesses already working in markets in the region and those considering launching there.

The virtual conference and exhibition on 4 - 5 November 2020 will feature 75 expert speakers - comprising senior executives from operators, regulators, marketing specialists, and suppliers with products and services tailored to CIS markets - sharing insights and ideas on the major issues affecting the growth of the sector.

One of the main themes of the agenda is in-depth evaluations of individual markets, featuring reliable data and expert insights of the type that are very rarely available to the industry in the region.

Delegates can benefit from sessions assessing the exceptional opportunities in Ukraine following the introduction of new legislation earlier this year, and the planned regulatory regime that would open up the market in Uzbekistan. There is also a panel examining the success of Georgia’s gambling industry, where international giants such as Flutter, GVC and Betsson have already made substantial investments to enter the market.

In addition to a focus on individual markets, the speakers will provide insights on broader issues affecting the betting and gaming industry across the CIS.

Some of the region’s most influential operator and supplier executives will be joined by stakeholders from governments and sports governing bodies as they debate the economic impact of developing a regulated gaming sector, how COVID-19 has changed the landscape for the industry, and the relationship between betting and professional sports.

An operator CEO panel will examine the importance of establishing strong relationships with suppliers and what the future holds for the industry in CIS markets, while a C-level supplier panel will evaluate the relative merits of using a platform provider against in-house management.

Delegates can also expect to gain some invaluable practical insights on topics such as effective marketing strategies in local markets, responsible gambling provision, payments challenges in the region, and the opportunities created by the rising popularity of esports in the CIS.

Rasmus Sojmark, SBC’s CEO & Founder, said: “The CIS is one of the most exciting regions for the global gambling industry, with huge growth potential for operators in markets such as Ukraine and Uzbekistan.

“In conjunction with our partners at Sports Media Holding, we have put together an agenda for SBC Digital Summit CIS that will see the sharing of the essential regulatory and market information that international businesses considering launching in the region really need.

“There is also a lot to interest established local operators, who can expect to pick up plenty of practical insights and ideas from some of the leading executives in the CIS betting and gaming industry.”

Lasha Machavariani, CEO and Founder of Sports Media Holding, said: “SBC Digital Summit CIS is an exciting new event that will finally see the region’s fast-growing betting and gaming industry receive the attention it deserves.

“It also represents a rare opportunity for people across the industry to get hold of some reliable information and insights about doing business here, together with some great ideas about how to make the most of the many emerging opportunities in the region.”

In addition to the conference, the event will feature an interactive product display area with leading suppliers showcasing the latest sportsbook, casino and payments innovations tailored to local markets, together with a programme of networking roundtables to make it easy for delegates to connect and talk business.
